PDGA Affiliate Club Program

The PDGA would like to announce the 5th year of the Affiliate Club PDGA Membership
contest. For details, scroll down to the bottom of this page.

2010 will be the ninth year for the ACP. We hope the club program will continue to evolve into a useful tool for disc golf clubs around the country. We've tried to design it to be easy for a club to make the decision to become an Affiliate. Check out the benefits below and "do the math". Suggestions of additional benefits are welcome - the Affiliate Club program has been a community project throughout initial design and it is your input that helps the program develop as it grows.

BENEFITS

- Current PDGA members on the Affiliate Club's roster will be able to take the PDGA officials test with no fee.

- The club contact will receive a form for ACP discounted PDGA memberships. The club will be allowed to discount $5 for each ACP handled PDGA membership.

- The club will also receive a forum on the DISCussion Board.

- The club contact will receive 5 cool PDGA patches to use for prizes.

- Various disc sport merchants are offering exclusive discounts to ACP members: Discovering The World is happy to offer 10% off our extensive product line to Affiliate Club members who are also current PDGA members. This offer excludes, D.G.A. and Innova baskets, our beginner package and any otherpromotional discounts. This discount must be mentioned at the time of ordering by phone, fax, mail, e-mail and off our secure web site (in the comments section @ www.dtworld.com).

We have plenty to get done and could use more help. Click on the Projects button to see some areas that we have identified that could use your help. Ways to contribute to the effort right now especially include help at the updated PDGA Online Course Directory.
  1. Please come online and improve the course listings with pix, street
addresses, course maps and reviews!   Please get your club members
helping out doing course listing updates. Full info up here:     http://www.pdga.com/directory-help-wanted
  2. Many courses do not yet have street addresses at the listings.  A street address REALLY helps out the location mapping. You can find them pretty easy on Google.
  3. Some of our courses do not have the Latitude and Longitude for the 1st tee entered at the PDGA Course Directory
  4. Help making course maps.  Make a good course map and then upload it to the listing!

The Affiliate Club PDGA Membership Contest

We will again be running a contest for those affiliate clubs that run a Discounted PDGA Membership program.  The contest will run the length of the 2010 membership season and will include only 2010 PDGA Discounted memberships that are submitted by active 2010 PDGA Affiliate Clubs.  In the interests of allowing clubs of different sizes a shot at winning, there are 3 categories for this contest. Awards will go to the clubs that:
A) Submit the most PDGA memberships - B) Submit the most new PDGA members  - C) Submit the most memberships above the prior year of ACP handled memberships.

A club can win only one of the 3 categories. If the 1st place club has already won in another category, the prize will go to the 2nd place club and so on.

For this 2010 season, each winning club in the A) and C) categories will receive $75 in credit at the PDGA Store, while the B) winning club with the most new PDGA members will win $150 in credit!

Please contact Cliff Towne with any questions about this contest or
about the PDGA Affiliate Club Program by clicking on "Affiliated Club
Program" on the PDGA Contacts page.

The winning clubs in 2009 were:

A) Most PDGA Affiliate Club members – Kansas City Flying Disc Club (73)

B) Most new PDGA Affiliate Club members – Greater Cincinnati Flying Disc Association (16) – Honorable Mention (tie): Friends of Lifetime Disc Sports (16)

C) Biggest increase in PDGA Affiliate Club members (2008 -‡ 2009)  - Friends of Lifetime Disc Sports (8 --> 41 )

Each of these 2009 winning clubs will receive $100 in credit for the PDGA Store.
