2017 Amateur & Junior Worlds Courses

Critical Notes

West Lake Park

110th Ave
Davenport, IA 52804
United States

Davenport, Iowa West Lake Park is a 24-hole layout, extremely versatile course with both long and short concrete teepads. Innova Discatchers dot the landscape at this physically and mentally demanding course. Water or other OB hazards are present on nearly every hole of this 7k-11k foot monster, and there’s rough. This is a tough course for hero golf, or amazing saves. It's more of a take your medicine type course. Play smart, stay in the fairway, and don't bite off more than you can chew. For the most part, West Lake is pull cart-friendly. West Lake is the feature course and will be the site of the Finals and Awards on Saturday.

The Camdens

2701 1st St E
Milan, IL 61264
United States

A two-course property, Camden Park opened to disc golf in 2001 with the original Camden 1 course. The Worlds layout will be the short tees, concrete with DGA Mach 5 baskets. Half of the course plays in the open park area, half in the woods. Elevation changes throughout, and more finesse than power is the key here. While there are plenty of scoring opportunities available, there are a few tough holes, as well. Holes 5 through 7 can make or break rounds. This 4,501-foot course is very popular for all skill levels, and is pull cart friendly. This course will be used for the Junior Divisional Doubles event on Saturday, July 15th .

Camden 2 (or C2) is another Quad Cities gem. A very intimidating shot greets you on the 1st tee, but once you get settled in, it's real golf. Most holes feature changes in elevation with multiple routes to challenge the basket. C2 is 18 holes with 2 to 3 pin placements, DGA Mach 5 baskets, and concrete teepads. The Camden work crew has spent countless hours building this Chris Sprague-designed course to life, and it shows. At distances of 5,000-7,000 feet, C2 will be a favorite of players. Not cart recommended, but it can be done. This course will be used for the Amateur Mixed Doubles event on Saturday, July 15th .

Prospect Park

33rd Ave and N Prospect Park Dr
Moline, IL 61265
United States

This shorter, technical course at 5,000 feet has constant changes in elevation, fast greens, and OB on every hole. Centrally-located in the Quad Cities and the heart of Moline, Prospect Park was originally a destination point for factory workers in Moline around the late 1800s. The pond’s diving boards, park’s live bears, and trolley tracks are long gone, though evidence still exists today. The path system that runs alongside most of the fairways makes pull carts possible.

Middle Park

Duck Creek Trail Pkwy
Bettendorf, IA 52722
United States

Like other Quad Cities courses in the rotation, there are big elevation changes at Middle Park and diverse terrain with 18 holes of variety over 6,850-8,272 feet. 14 of the 18 holes have OB, and command of distance off the tee is key to avoiding those strokes. The front 9 plays in mostly open conditions, amongst the trees and hillsides. The back 9 is mostly wooded, some heavy, and you'll need pinpoint accuracy. It is cart friendly, except for a few holes. Middle Park is the closest park to the host hotel, less than a few miles away.

Credit Island

2200 W. River Drive
Davenport, IA 52802
United States

Credit Island has a long history, and was the site of one of the westernmost battles in the war of 1812. It was used mainly as a trading post, giving it the name of Credit Island. At one time, Credit Island had an 18-hole golf course, before it became exclusively used for disc golf in 2011. Flat and wide open with distances of 5,915-9,332 feet, the river winds can bring relief or misery, and the long rough grass gives the course a links-style feel. Big distance here coupled with many scoring opportunities, Credit Island is great for pull carts. Credit Island will also be used for Field Events on Sunday, July 16th.

Eastern Avenue

3122 Eastern Ave
Davenport, IA 52807
United States

As the most played course in Davenport, what Eastern lacks in elevation it makes up for in OB. Duck Creek winds throughout the front and back 9, and railroad tracks and bike paths define the other OB obstacles. Similar to Credit Island, this is a long, flat course with some trees in the way. It's great for carts, and parking is available at both the 1/9 hole lot and the lots behind 11s teepad. This course has distances of 6,409-8,420 feet.

Richmond Hill Park

Hk Robinson Dr
Geneseo, IL 61254
United States

25 minutes outside of the metro Quad Cities via I-80 or I-74, the windmills on the horizon greet you. Big elevation changes and bigger wind come standard at the Hill. Newly renovated by Jeff Mallum and the City of Geneseo, this Tim Miller-designed course from 1999 was the first 18-hole track in the greater Quad Cities area. It has multiple signature holes, and low scores are possible if you can work with the wind. This course is pull cart friendly.
