On November 5th & 6th, 2016, the PDGA Director’s Cup will be making its first voyage to a location outside of the International Disc Golf Center.  This year, the Director’s Cup will be hosted at the PDGA Regional Development Center located at Lemon Lake Flight Center in Crown Point, Indiana, the same venue that hosted both the 2010 and 2013 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships.  Since its inaugural year, the intention for the Director’s Cup has been to travel to various regions to offer this opportunity to as many people as possible, and we are ecstatic to see this event hosted at a new location this year, for the first time.

The Director’s Cup was designed to be a fun and educational event for PDGA Tournament Directors, State/Provincial/Country Coordinators, and PDGA volunteers at no charge to the participants. Our volunteers help make the PDGA and the sport of disc golf a continuous success, and this is one of the many ways we show our gratitude and appreciation for their efforts. As an “Invitation Only” event, all invited persons should have received their invitation via email. If you did not receive an invitation but would like to attend the event, please feel free to contact the IDGC Superintendent Zach Shafer with your Name, PDGA #, Division, and a brief explanation of how you have volunteered your time to help grow the sport of disc golf.

At the Director’s Cup, each participant will not only have the opportunity to play two rounds of disc golf at the famed Lemon Lake Flight Center, but will also get to participate in our series of informative lectures and discussions.  Additionally, the Lemon Lake Flight Center is currently featuring both the Indiana State Disc Golf Museum and the Traveling Disc Golf Museum. For more information about the topics we will be discussing, please refer to the tentative schedule on the Director's Cup event page.

The Director's Cup is a fantastic opportunity to network with many of the other great minds in disc golf and to meet some of the PDGA staff in person. If you are a business owner and would like to showcase some of your products to the other participants by providing merchandise for player packs, CTPs or raffle prizes, please contact Deb Svitko or Zach Shafer. We are more than happy to work with you to get your product featured.
