2014 - 2015 College Disc Golf Season

The College Disc Golf National Championship has already invited back the top 16 finishers and the First Flight and Second Flight Champion teams from the 2014 National Championships to the 2015 event. We will host a field of 72 teams in the Championship division for our 2015 tournament. That means there are 54 spots to award through our rankings, invitations, and qualifying events throughout the year.

We are presenting an opportunity for your area to host one of these events.

There will be four types of qualifier tournaments in the 2014-2015 season, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze.

The Platinum Qualifier status will be awarded to the largest two events from the 2013-2014 season that reapply for the 2014-2015 season. Each Platinum Qualifier will award four spots to the highest four teams that haven’t yet earned a qualification. Platinum events will award a total of 8 berths to the 2015 National Championships.

The Gold Qualifier status will be awarded to one event in each region. It is the goal for the Gold events to be the best event in the region. Each Gold Qualifier will award three spots to the highest three teams that haven’t yet earned a qualification. Gold events will award a total of 18 berths to the 2015 National Championships.

The Silver and Bronze Qualifier statuses will be awarded to regions based on several factors: saturation of teams in region, saturation of events in region, new event v. established event, previous event size, among other factors. Each Silver Qualifier will award two spots to the highest two teams that haven’t yet earned a qualification. Each Bronze Qualifier will award one spot to the highest team that hasn’t yet earned a qualification. Silver and Bronze events will award a total of 24 berths to the 2015 National Championships.
