Format

The PDGA Worlds Doubles format is designed to ensure that the results accurately reflect a team performance by using both partner’s skills and abilities to contribute to the team’s score. Each partner’s tee shot is also used once on each hole on the course across the two rounds.

Alternate Shot:

  • The format for two-thirds of the event is Alternate Shot played on the first six and last six holes of each round.
  • The partners trade off each set of six holes for tee off between Round 1 and Round 2.
  • Which partner tees off on each hole is designated on the scorecard.

Modified Best Shot:

  • The format for the other third of the event is Modified Best Shot on the middle six holes of each round with only one partner teeing off on each hole.
  • After a tee-off by the designated partner, both partners throw the next shot and the rest of the hole is completed using regular Best Shot format where the team determines which partner’s lie to throw from.
  • Which partner tees off on each hole is designated on the scorecard.
