This past weekend Nikko Locastro won the Stockholm Discgolf Open for the second year in a row, powering his way to a 9-throw victory and a remarkable 1089-rated final round. Markus Källström and Paul Ulibarri tied for second, followed by Will Schusterick and Paul McBeth.

In the Women’s division, Paige Pierce cruised to a 13-throw victory while Ragna Bygde, Staci Pauly, and Angelica Frantz rounded out the top four within a stroke of each other. Sweden’s number one rated player, Camilla Jernberg, was slowed by a shoulder injury and finished fifth.

Two hundred and sixteen players from thirteen countries entered the event and more than half of the field was from outside Sweden.

The tournament was held for the 16th consecutive year at the professionally run Discgolf complex Järva Discgolf Park. Discgolf Park is a challenging 27-hole course in a partly hilly park that includes a driving range, warm-up putting greens, and a short course for beginners and practice play. The course also has a pro shop and restaurant and is regularly mowed and maintained.
