Monday, February 15, 2010 - 11:22

Locastro, Jenkins, Koling & Snider – Not a law firm but your 2009 Players & Rookies of the Year. Players will receive their awards at Pro Worlds this July in Indiana. More details will be posted on the PDGA website next month on who made the finals in each category and how the 2009 calculations were done.

Nikko Locastro had a small lead over David Feldberg and Ken Climo going into the final calculations. Avery Jenkins made a strong bid in the Final calculations leaping past Climo and Feldberg to end up in second overall.

Nikko        Valarie Jenkins

Nikko Locastro - Male Player of the Year      Valarie Jenkins - Female Player of the Year

Valarie Jenkins went wire-to-wire to easily lock down the Female Player of the Year title over Des Reading with a solid second.

Koling

Jeremy "Big Germ" Koling - Male Rookie of the Year

Jeremy Koling of North Carolina and Bradley Williams of Texas had quite a battle for the Male Rookie of the Year title with Koling doing really well at the USDGC compared to Williams, and Williams doing really well at Worlds compared with Koling.

Jayne Snider of Minnesota (see headline photo) led going into the Final calculations over Maureen McErlean of New Jersey. But Haley Konrad of Oregon eased past McErlean to finish second behind Snider for the Female Rookie of the Year.

Congratulations to our winners and best of luck to those planning to work hard to earn these awards in 2010.
